I am a full time IFMGA guide, living year-round in the Chamonix valley. Having been climbing, skiing and mountaineering for over 20 years, my adventures have taken me to the Canadian Rockies, Greenland, Tien Shan, Peruvian Andes, New Zealand's southern alps and rock climbing in Australia. My passion for climbing started in Scotland before taking me to the European Alps where I have done the majority of my climbing & skiing.
 
       
 

Rock Climbing...

Warmer Temperatures lower down in Winter brings perfect conditions for multi pitch Rock Climbing, with venues like Macabe and Geitroz-Barbarine being best. Have a look at the Rock Climbing page.

Off-Piste Skiing...

Winter has really kicked off with some nice powder over in Italy on the Toula Glacier and in Courmeyeur off the Arp lift. The skiing off the Aig Du Midi and Vallee Blanche is getting better daily. Have a look at the Off Piste Skiing page..

Ski-Touring...

Les Contamine's amazing early season Ski-Tours like the Cicle and the Chasseur are in good shape with really good snow cover, and in Chamonix it's the same story in the Aiguille Rouge. Have a look at the Ski Touring page.

Ice Climbing...

There has been some fantastic Ice Climbing in the past couple of weeks with Cogne and Valsaveranche (Italy) in great nick! The climbing on Patri left and right, Coyote, Lilaz Gully, Lau Bij, Cascade Lilaz and Rovenaud i can report is superb. See the Ice Climbing page.

IFMGA Qualified

The International Federation of Mountain Guides Association sets the standard for training and assessment of Mountain Guides worldwide. It is the only qualification that allows legal guiding in alpine countries & is the highest available qualification for guiding in the high mountain environment.


British Mountain Guide

Each IFMGA member country has an association. I am a member of the Association of British Mountain Guides (BMG).
