Welcome to Jonathan Baird Alpine Guiding. I am a full time IFMGA guide, living year-round in the Chamonix valley. Having been climbing, skiing and mountaineering for over 20 years, my adventures have taken me to the Canadian Rockies, Tien Shan, Peruvian Andes, New Zealand's southern alps and rock climbing in Australia. My passion for climbing started in Scotland before taking me to the European Alps where I have done the majority of my climbing & skiing.

I offer a year round mountain guiding service, specialising in Ice climbing, Off-piste skiing and Ski touring in the winter, and Alpine climbing and Rock climbing in the summer. Whether you are dreaming of steep ice, waist deep powder or sunny rock, your trip can be tailor-made to meet your needs.

IFMGA
The International Federation of Mountain Guides Association sets the standard for training and assessment of Mountain Guides worldwide. It is the only qualification that allows legal guiding in alpine countries & is the highest available qualification for guiding in the high mountain environment.
Each IFMGA member country has an association. I am a member of the Association of British Mountain Guides (BMG).
